Group tennis at Sarasota's public parks, coached by Michael Boothman, USPTA Elite Professional with 30 years on court. Most of every session is live ball, and every player's progress is tracked with numbers they can see, like 8 out of 10 to a target.

Ages 8 and up · Pineview

For players building the skills that hold up in a real match: reliable contact, rally consistency, and directional control under live conditions.

Most of the hour is live ball, players hitting with players, reading and reacting and deciding, rather than standing in line for basket feeds. Progress gets tracked with numbers players can see. Last week 6 out of 10 to the target, today 8 out of 10. That's not a compliment, that's a fact.

High School Group

For high school players who want structured, competitive training, whether they're preparing for a team season or building match skills on their own timeline.

There's no signup form for this group. Players are placed by Coach Michael based on tracked evidence from Rally Builders sessions: rally consistency numbers, accuracy under live conditions, and readiness for tactical pattern work. When a player's numbers say they're ready, the invitation comes to you.

Venmo @SRQ-Tennis or Zelle to 941-840-2571. Put your player's name and day in the note. The spot is held once payment lands.

Coach Michael confirms the spot, session details, and first day info by text.

Questions parents ask

What ages are these programs for?

Rally Builders is for players ages 8 and up. High School Group is for high school players. Not sure which fits? Text 941-840-2571 and Coach Michael will help place your player.

Can we drop in for a single session?

No, there are no drop ins this fall. Enrollment is by 4 week cycle, which keeps the group consistent, the same six players building together week over week.

What happens if weather cancels a class?

When SRQ reschedules for weather, a makeup class is offered at no charge. Labor Day week, September 7 to 10, is built into the calendar as the makeup week. If no makeup is owed, players can still attend that week at $37.50 per session. There are no refunds for weather cancellations.

What if we miss a class?

There are no makeups for player absences. The schedule and small group structure depend on consistent attendance.

Can we join mid season?

Yes. Mid season joiners start at the next cycle date: September 21, October 19, or November 16. There's no proration, you join at a cycle start and pay full cycles.

How does cancellation work?

Group enrollment is by 4 week cycle with 30 days notice to cancel. For private lessons: 48 hours notice or more is a full refund, 24 to 47 hours is a $75 fee, and same day is a full charge.

What should my player bring?

A racket, water bottle, court shoes, and a hat or sunglasses for the Florida sun. If you need help choosing the right racket size, text Coach Michael before the first session.
